Tai Chi Chuan (Tai ji) is a kind of traditional Chinese exercise method full of mystery and cultural connotation. As one of the most important division of Chinese Wushu, Tai Chi is more natural in its content and graceful in its movement. Tai Chi chuan (Tai qi), being one of the most important branch of Chinese Kung Fu or martial arts,consists of various styles, forms and patterns. The focus of this form is health, balance and strength. Popularly known as a form of relaxation and exercise, Taichi is also a serious martial art. Behind it's soft, graceful and flowing movements lies hidden strength and great physical and mental control, the movements themselves are all traditional defensive and offensive techniques. Of great importance in Taichi is breathing control in order to develop qi (chi). There are several styles of Taichi, including: Chen (the original from which all the others came), Yang, Wu and Sun. The most popularly practised form of Taichi is the Yang style and it's derivations, the standard 24, 48 & 42 forms, and the 32 & 42 Taiqijian (sword) forms. The style of Tai Chi Quan in our screensaver is of standard 42 forms, performed by professional Chinese Kung Fu master.
